Underwater quake shakes Greece

ATHENS, Greece, Feb. 20 (UPI) -- An 6.2-magnitude earthquake shook southern Greece early Wednesday, but authorities said initial reports indicated no injuries.

The Athens Geodynamic Institute said the underwater temblor occurred west of the island of Kythira, about 142 miles southwest of Athens, Sofia News Agency reported.

The quake occurs less than a week after two strong quakes with magnitude of 6.5 and 6.4 rocked southern Greece. No injuries and only minor damage were reported, but tremors reportedly were felt as far away as Egypt, the news agency said.
