COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- A school on the outskirts of Copenhagen was set on fire this weekend amid rioting in Denmark, it was reported.

There have been more than 180 fires throughout the country. Mostly, trash bins and cars were ignited, EuroNews.net reported Sunday.

Authorities were unsure what sparked the wave of unrest, but some have said it may have been fueled by the reprinting of a disparaging cartoon of the Muslim prophet Mohamed.

Last week, Danish police said they had uncovered an alleged plot to kill one of the cartoonists of a caricature originally published last year, the news site reported.

Fifteen newspapers reprinted one of his cartoons in protest.
