ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Pakistan police say a fifth suspected Islamic militant has been arrested in connection with the death of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Abdul Rasheed is alleged to be a key member of a gang that organized the Dec. 27th assassination attack that killed Bhutto and 20 others near her car as she traveled in a motorcade, the BBC reported Saturday.

Rasheed was arrested Friday, two days after cousins Rufukat Gul and Husnan Gul allegedly confessed to helping with the bombing, the BBC said.

Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud has denied any involvement in the assassination. Mehsud, who is based in the tribal region of South Waziristan, has not been arrested but has been accused by Pakistani leaders of masterminding Bhutto's assassination, the BBC reported.
