TIJUANA, Mexico, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Six bodies showing signs of having been tortured have been found in the past several days in the Mexican border town of Tijuana.

One of the victims was a police officer. Several of the victims, all male, appeared to have been strangled, the San Antonio Express reported Friday.

At least four of the victims had index fingers that were mutilated, a known gang sign that those killed were informants.

Tijuana and other Mexican border towns have reported increasing drug violence in recent months.
