MILWAUKEE , Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Republican U.S. presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee says he will stay in the race until front-runner John McCain wins the delegates needed for the nomination.
"If I pull out, then the people in Wisconsin don't matter anymore, and neither do the people in the Texas, Pennsylvania and Ohio," the former Arkansas governor was quoted by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel as saying.
"The point is, there are a lot of conservatives who feel that their voice still ought to be heard ... If I leave, then it's gone," Huckabee added.
When asked whether he'll drop out of the race if McCain secures the 1, 191 delegates needed for the Republican nomination, Huckabee said, "Sure."
Huckabee said part of the impetus for him to stay in the race is to give conservatives a choice.
"A lot of people are looking for a pro-life conservative," Huckabee said.
