Arrested Chicago man not mall killer

CHICAGO, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A Chicago man arrested because he looks like a gunman sought by police, is not connected to the killings of five women at a shopping mall store, a report said.

The 39-year-old man, who was wanted for parole violations on drug charges, was arrested Wednesday after officers noticed he resembled a sketch of the suspect, the Chicago Daily Southtown reported Thursday.

"It's another lead. He has not been charged in connection with anything in this case," Tinley Park police Cmdr. Rick Bruno said.

The suspect in the fatal shootings of five women inside a Lane Bryant clothing store in suburban Tinley Park Feb. 2, is thought to be an African-American between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 inches tall, 25- to 30-years-old, with a stocky build and a medium complexion, the newspaper said.

Police have reportedly questioned several criminals as part of the investigation and are trying to question anyone who resembles the drawing.
