PHOENIX, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- U.S. Border Patrol agents said more than 2,900 pounds of marijuana were found in a truck during a routine inspection at an Arizona border checkpoint.

The agents discovered the marijuana, which had an estimated street value of more than $3.3 million, hidden behind boxes of rotting vegetables at the Sonoita station border checkpoint, KTAR-FM, Phoenix, reported Wednesday.

The truck driver was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
