GAZA, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- The Israeli army says it will cut the power supply to the Gaza Strip until rocket attacks on the southern area of Israel stop.

A barrage of at least 17 Kassam rockets struck Israel's western Negev Friday with Palestinian gunmen claiming responsibility for eight of them.

A dozen of the rockets landed in Sderot, one of them striking a house. Several people were treated for shock because of the attack.

On Thursday, some 20 Kassam rockets pounded the western Negev.
