Speakers at the rally called for a stop to Turkish military incursions into Iraq that target Iraqi Kurdish militants, members of the Kurdistan Workers Party or PKK, The New Anatolian reported. PKK militants have been attacking Turkish outposts in a bid to carve out an autonomous Kurdish state that straddles Iraq, Turkey and part of Syria.

Tuesday, the Turkish military said it had killed 10 PKK fighters in Turkey where they estimate 1,000 others are holed up, the report said.
