The incident occurred Saturday morning when the unidentified gunman opened fire in a Lane Bryant clothing store within the mall. Police found the bodies of the five women inside the store.

Tinley Park police Sgt. T.J. Grady told the Chicago Sun-Times the gunman likely acted alone, but the possible reasons for the deadly rampage were still a mystery.

At least 40 police investigators were assigned to the case. One witness has described the gunman as a 5-foot-9 black man weighing between 230 and 290 pounds.
