ODESSA, Texas, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- A 60-year-old man from West Odessa, Texas, charged with killing his wife, reportedly told police she died while he was exorcising a demon from her.

David Clark told police he held Susan Kay Clark's face down on their carpeted bathroom when she died, the Odessa American reported Sunday.

Police found the woman's body wrapped in a bed sheet with a cross and a sword placed on it.

Clark also claimed the demon entered his body while he was holding his wife down and made him kill her.

A justice of the peace set Clark's bond at $300,000, the newspaper said.
