Poll: Southerners not enamored of Obama
Tuesday, November 10
SOLNA, Sweden, Feb. 2 (UPI) -- A British citizen who is a longtime resident of Sweden has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for infecting two young girls with the AIDS virus.
Merrill Christer Aggett, 38, was convicted in November in Solna District Court, just outside Stockholm. He was given a psychiatric evaluation before being sentenced, The Local reported.
Investigators said Aggett, who was found to be HIV positive in 1992, got in touch with 130 girls through Internet chat rooms between 2002 and 2006. He had unprotected sex with 16 of them, and two tested positive for the virus.
Many of the girls were under age 15.
Aggett has been a resident of Sweden since childhood.
