NEW YORK, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- An approximate $750,000 TV New York ad launch for Sen. Barack Obama was an unexpected move in his race for president ahead of next week's Super Tuesday vote.
The New York campaign ads, which run during prime TV programming times, were unexpected because of their high price and because the state is home to Obama, D-Ill., opponent, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., AdAge.com reported Thursday.
The Obama campaign reportedly launched ads in Connecticut and named New Jersey as a high priority. The campaign launched ads Wednesday in Philadelphia and is expected to increase funding in Los Angeles.
It has been reported that the campaign's South Carolina victory contributed to its funding for states having Super Tuesday primary elections.
Clinton's campaign reportedly bought $700,000 of similar media spots in New York.
