Charges against 'Pacman' Jones dropped

MURFREESBORO, Tenn., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- A Murfreesboro, Tenn., judge told suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones to apologize and then dismissed misdemeanor charges against him.

Jones was arrested in Tennessee after he allegedly refused to leave a Murfreesboro nightclub. Police said that he cursed at the officers who responded at the club.

He faced a total fine of up to $200 if convicted of public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Jones still faces felony charges in neighboring Georgia.

In December, Jones pleaded no contest to misdemeanor conspiracy to commit disorderly conduct in Las Vegas, where he had been charged with a felony for his role in a fight that ended with gunfire. Three people were wounded, including one man who was paralyzed.

The arrest of Jones in Las Vegas blocked a deal that would have allowed him to plead guilty in Tennessee, with the charges to be dropped if he stayed out of trouble for six months.

The National Football League suspended Jones for a year in April 2007. He was the No. 6 pick in the 2005 NFL Draft.
