Among the major toll hikes planned is a $3 increase during peak hours for drivers who use the George Washington Bridge linking New York and New Jersey, USA Today reported Monday.
The newspaper said the current $5 charge for crossing the nation's busiest toll bridge will jump to $8 in March while truckers will pay $35 instead of the current $25.
In California, tolls on the Golden Gate Bridge will increase to $6 from $5 if approved following public hearings, USA Today said. San Francisco is separately considering a new $2 toll when drivers exit the bridge.
The cost of driving all 157 miles of the Indiana Toll Road will rise in April to $8 from the current $4.65 for those paying cash.
In New Jersey, Gov. John Corzine is seeking to increase tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway by 50 percent every four years beginning in 2010, USA Today said.
