HILLSBOROUGH , Fla., Jan. 25 (UPI) -- A Florida woman faces drunken driving charges after allegedly ramming the side of a Hillsborough sheriff's deputy's cruiser.

Deputy Jeffrey Catlin was away from his cruiser, assisting another deputy with a nearby traffic stop, when Jeannine Canfield allegedly sideswiped Catlin's empty cruiser, causing about $750 in damage to the driver's side, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Friday.

Deputies said the 54-year-old Tampa resident continued down the road before police caught up with her about a quarter-mile away.

Sheriff's officials said she was too impaired to perform routine DUI testing and refused to provide breath testing, the newspaper reported.

Deputies found 55 Valium pills in a container labeled with a different name and 52 pills of the muscle relaxer Flexeril, police said.

Canfield was charged with DUI with property damage, leaving the scene of a crash with damage, possession of a drug without prescription and possession of a controlled substance. Bail was set at $3,000.
