HOUSTON, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Hollywood tough guy Chuck Norris questioned whether Sen. John McCain was too old to be U.S. president, prompting McCain to threaten to sic his mama on Norris.
Norris, who supports former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee in his bid for the Republican presidential nominee, said he didn't throw his support to the Arizona Republican because "I'm just afraid that the vice president would wind up taking over his job in that four-year presidency," a Los Angeles Times blog reported.
Norris, 67, said during a recent fundraiser at his Navasota, Texas, ranch the country needs "someone that can handle it for four years or eight years ... that has the youth and vision and communication skills to make that work."
If McCain should be sworn in a year from now, he'd be 72 years old. However, he's not the oldest candidate -- Ron Paul, at 72, is.
The 71-year-old McCain took Norris' comment in stride.
"I'm afraid I may have to send my 95-year-old mother over and wash Chuck's mouth out with soap," he said Monday during campaign stop in Miami.
