LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Hillary Clinton has a wide lead in California over her closest rival, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, a new poll indicates.

Among those likely to vote in California's Feb. 5 primary, the New York senator led Obama 47 percent to 31 percent, The Los Angeles Times reported Monday.

Meanwhile, Arizona Sen. John McCain has a slim lead among Republicans, with 20 percent support among likely GOP voters.

Trailing were former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney with 16 percent, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani with 14 percent and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee with 13 percent support.

The Los Angeles Times/CNN/Politico poll, conducted Jan. 11 to 13, suggested some fluidity of the race, particularly on the Republican side, the newspaper reported.

Six in 10 Republicans said they might change candidates in the next three weeks. Among Democrats, four in 10 said they could be persuaded to support another candidate.

The poll interviewed 1,054 registered voters, including 384 likely to vote in the Democratic primary and 255 Republican likely voters. The margin of sampling error was 5 points among likely voters in the Democratic primary and 6 points among Republican likely voters.
