DIYARBAKIR, Turkey, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- The suspect in a bus bombing in Diyarbakir, Turkey, claimed that a Kurdish terror group in northern Iraq commanded him to carry out the attack.

The accused man killed six and wounded 67 people in the bombing and told authorities that he was also involved in a December attack on a police station, The New Anatolian in Ankara, Turkey, reported Friday.

The Jan. 3 bus bombing could reportedly be heard 2 miles from where it happened and damaged surrounding cars and buildings.

The alleged bomber told officials that he came from the terrorist camp in Mount Qandil in northern Iraq and that he had the help of two people when planning the bus bombing.

Members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, known by its Kurdish language initials of PKK and designated by the U.S. State Department of a terrorist group, reportedly claim that the attacks were carried out by other members of its group.
