ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Saltwater from pools at two Florida marine theme parks has been seeping into groundwater underneath.

State environmental records show little chance of the saltwater from SeaWorld and Discovery Cove getting into the supply of drinking water, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported. There also appears to be little risk that salt could get into Shingle Creek, an Orlando area waterway that is one of many supplying the Everglades.

The two parks, both owned by SeaWorld, are neighbors. Discovery Cove, which opened in 2000, has a tropical resort theme and features coral reefs, among other attractions.

SeaWorld said that the problem at the original park comes from specific leaks at Shamu Stadium and a dolphin pool. But state environmental officials say the problem may be more serious.

Company officials told the Sentinel they are developing a long-term solution for salt-water leakage at Discovery Cove.
