ATHENS, Greece, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- An earthquake registering 6.5 on the Richter scale shook Greece's southern Peloponnese region Sunday.
Early reports indicated no signs of damage or casualties, the BBC reported.
Geologists say the quake was centered 75 miles southwest of Athens and occurred 31.7 miles underground at 7:14 a.m. local time (12:14 a.m. EST).
Structures shook for about 30 seconds, local reports said.
Greece was rocked by a strong earthquake in September 1999 that killed more than 100 people.
