KARANGANYAR, Indonesia, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Indonesia's president won't let rescue workers give up the hunt for three people missing in last week's flooding and landslides on Java.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono Monday ordered officials in the area to keep searchers on the job and also continue to provide medical assistance to refugees.

Christmas week slides and flooding killed around 130 people in the Karanganyar district. The Antara news agency said rains continue to soak the area, raising the likelihood of more misery.
