Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor

MIAMI, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- The world's oldest captive Sumatran orangutan has been found dead at the Metrozoo in Miami.
The 55-year-old Nonja was born in the wild in 1952 in Sumatra, WTVJ-TV, Miami reported Sunday. After years at the Wassenar Zoo in Holland -- Nonja is Dutch for girl -- she came to the United States in 1983.
She was found dead Saturday morning by her keeper.
"She will be missed," said a statement released by the zoo, which threw a birthday party for Nonja each June.
A necropsy will be performed to determine the cause of death for Nonja, who was elderly but did not appear to be sick, WTVJ reported.
The orangutan had five babies, who produced two babies of their own.
