BOSTON, Dec. 30 (UPI) -- A nationally recognized neurosurgeon denies accusations he discriminated against three female Indian neurosurgeons at a top Boston hospital.

Drs. Sagun Tuli, 38, Deepa Soni, 36, and Malini Narayanan, 40, have filed complaints against Dr. Arthur L. Day with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Boston Herald reported Sunday.

The three women accuse Day, 61, of a pattern of discrimination and denying them promotions, based on sex and race, at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Tuli also alleges Day said at a June 2004 hospital dinner, "Sagun, can you get up on the table and dance for us to show the female residents how to behave?" When Tuli objected to her treatment, she claims Day punished her with restricted research hours, the Herald reported.

Day, in a written statement to the Herald, Thursday called the allegations "falsehoods."

"I welcome a thorough inquiry of the issues," Day said in his statement.
