LONDON, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- A 34-year-old Welsh woman married her own foster son, seven years after taking in the boy from the war-torn Serbian province of Kosovo.
Julia Gregg wed 21-year-old Krenar Lleshi in a "very private" ceremony with the couple's 1-year-old daughter, Hattie, serving as bridesmaid, London's Daily Mail said.
"I know how much people have gossiped about us and we wanted it to be a very special, very private occasion," Gregg told the Daily Mail.
Lleshi was 14 when Gregg and former husband Steve Crandon took him in as a foster child after the boy smuggled his way into Britain in the back of a truck, the Daily Mail said.
Gregg said she fell in love with Lleshi when he turned 19, after her divorce.
"It might not have been the most conventional start to a relationship but we are just like any other family with the same hopes and dreams," she told the Daily Mail.
