CARNATION, Wash., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Two suspects were arrested Wednesday in the Christmas Eve slayings of six members of a rural Washington family.
The suspects -- a man and a woman in their late 20s -- were being taken to the King County Sheriff's Office, deputies told CNN.
The victims, whose names weren't released, were said to be a man and woman in their 50s, another man and woman in their 30s, a 6-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, the network reported. Sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart said the victims are believed to be three generations of the same family.
The sheriff's department said the six had been shot to death, The Seattle Times reported. The medical examiner was to release the cause and manner of the deaths, however, the newspaper said.
The bodies were discovered in and around a house near Carnation, about 21 miles from Seattle, by a colleague of one victim who had dropped by to check on the family Wednesday morning after the person hadn't shown up for work, Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Laing said.
