MADRID, Dec. 25 (UPI) -- An explosion in Spain's Basque country following a warning from Basque terrorist group ETA caused no injuries or serious property damage.
The attack, which took place minutes after Spain's King Juan Carlos completed a Christmastime appeal for unity in the country, targeted a local meeting place for workers with the Socialist Party, Euronews.net reported Tuesday.
"We need as soon as possible a culture of unity that delivers on the commitment of all democrats to definitively bring terrorism to an end," the king said during his address.
The bombing follows months of public disagreement between Spain's two main political parties, the Socialists and the opposition Popular party, regarding how best to deal with ETA.
