VANCOUVER, Wash., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- After allegedly robbing a Chevron gas station in Vancouver, Wash., a man left a $700 Christmas present at a nearby pizza parlor.
Police said David Uriah Jones, 21, entered Vancouver's Pied Piper Pizza Saturday apparently looking to spread holiday cheer, The (Portland) Oregonian reported. He is suspected of emptying a paper bag onto the restaurant floor, dumping some $727.30 and saying "Merry Christmas."
The catch is that the money allegedly came from a Chevron gas station two doors down, police said.
Jones is accused of using a 12-inch knife to rob the gas station and was charged with felony first-degree robbery, The Oregonian said. He is being held without bail and is scheduled to in Clark County Superior Court.
Police were able to recover the money from the restaurant and arrested Jones a short distance from the scene.
