JERUSALEM, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- Israel's security minister criticized the recent U.S. National Security Estimate that suggested Iran halted its nuclear arms program years ago.
"U.S. misconceptions regarding Iran could bring about another Yom Kippur War in our region," said Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter. "We were unable to convince the U.S. of the immediacy and proximity of the Iranian nuclear threat."
The U.S. assessment of the Iranian nuclear threat is "seriously flawed, and we can only hope that the U.S. can address these errors," he added.
As for U.S.-led efforts toward the creation of a Palestinian state, Dichter said U.S. foreign policy is flawed, Ynetnews reported Saturday.
"Erroneous American judgment regarding the implementation of the road map, most notably whether Israel has lived up to its commitments therein, could prove especially deleterious to Israel," he said.
