PRAGUE, Czech Republic, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Three men serving in the Czech armed forces are likely to be discharged from the service for reportedly attending neo-Nazi meetings.
The Czech Mlada Fronta Dnes daily said Friday three members of the Czech army elite units regularly attended international marches and demonstrations of neo-Nazis. Czech police and witnesses have confirmed the allegations the three were self-styled neo-Nazis.
Vlastimil Picek, chief of the staff of the Czech army, said military police were investigating the case and he gave assurances the army will take a harsh stand on political extremists.
Picek said he would suggest to Czech Defense Minister Vlasta Parkanova that newly enlisted soldiers sign a certificate they aren't affiliated with any group advocating hatred and racial intolerance.
