Church shooter ranted on Web

COLORADO SPRINGS, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- The young man believed to have killed four people at a Colorado mission center and a church raged against the Youth With a Mission in Web postings.

Matthew Murray was dismissed from Youth With a Mission in Arvada in 2002. Over the next few years, he became increasingly threatening, The Rocky Mountain News reported.

Murray attacked the group in a May 8 posting on a site for former evangelical Christians, using the name nightmrchld26.

"The fact is, in YWAM, and christianity, it's all about the Beautiful People," he wrote. "No, it's not just 'one group of bad christians' but rather ... almost every group of christians except for a few open minded

non-evangelical churches."

Murray was dropped from missionary training because of behavior that included claiming to hear voices and accusing others of pot-smoking and homosexuality. He continued to make those accusations on line.

One person who saw his postings alerted police after hearing about the mission center shooting Sunday. Police began looking for Murray but failed to find him before he killed two more people at the New Life Church in Colorado Springs and took his own life.
