NECKER ISLAND, British Virgin Islands, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Google co-founder Larry Page got married on a private island in the British Virgin Islands this weekend.
His bride is Lucy Southworth, a graduate student at Stanford University. Page dropped out of Stanford graduate school to build Google, The Independent reported.
The couple were to tie the knot on Necker Island, owned by Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Atlantic Airlines and the rest of the Virgin empire, who was to double as best man.
Because Necker Island only sleeps 28, most guests were to stay on nearby Virgin Gorda, where hotels reportedly were booked solid months ago.
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., reportedly were invited. But Bill Clinton was in South Carolina campaigning for Hillary Clinton while she was in Iowa campaigning for the Democratic Party presidential nomination.
Former Vice President Al Gore also was invited, but he was in Stockholm to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
