Kucinich to seek 7th congressional term

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Six-term congressman Dennis Kucinich said he plans to run for re-election in Ohio despite his presence on the presidential campaign trail.

Kucinich indicated his intent to seek re-election in the 10th Congressional District, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Wednesday.

"I will tell city and ward leaders that Kucinich has sent back a signed questionnaire indicating that he is seeking re-election," the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party chairman James Dimora said.

Several challengers to Kucinich's seat emerged recently, citing Kucinich's second stalled presidential bid and his time away from the district as their motivation.

Yet, with Kucinich winning 76 percent of the vote during his last congressional bid, the rivals are seen as long shots.

"I don't see any of these people beating him," Dimora said.
