RIVERSIDE, Calif., Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Two deaf women were killed and one man escaped with injuries after a fire consumed a Moreno Valley, Calif., mobile home.

Neighbors said all three had connections to the California School for the Deaf in Riverside, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported Monday.

The women who died were both residents of the mobile home, but further details were withheld pending notification of their next of kin.

The fire, at the Sky Trails Mobile Village, completely engulfed the mobile home and two sheds and damaged a second mobile home.

Fire spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said a candle being used for light and heat started the blaze.
