EL DORADO , Kan., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- A forensic orthodontist has confirmed a body found along a highway as that of Emily Sander, a community college student who disappeared in Kansas last month.

The 18-year-old student's identity was confirmed by dental records shipped from Texas, where she had lived previously, said El Dorado Police Chief Tom Boren.

Sander's body was released to her family Saturday and the results of the autopsy were sealed, The Wichita (Kan.) Eagle reported Sunday.

Her body was found Thursday along a highway about 50 miles east of El Dorado. Near her body, investigators found a bedspread reported missing from a hotel room rented by Israel Mireles, 24, who was seen leaving a bar with Sander outside El Dorado Nov. 23, the Eagle reported.

Mireles has been named a suspect in the death and police believe he may be trying to enter Mexico, possibly with his 16-year-old pregnant girlfriend, who was believed to be traveling with him, the Eagle reported.
