FORT MYERS, Fla., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- The four suspects in the shooting death of Washington Redskins safety Sean Taylor are facing charges after allegedly confessing, it was reported Saturday.
The Miami Herald reported Saturday that, according to Miami-Dade Police Director Robert Parker, police have received confessions from the four homicide suspects.
"We have confessions, but I'm not going to talk about the details of the confessions at this point," Parker said.
One suspect in the case, Jason Mitchell, 19, also was linked by his relatives to a previous birthday party held at the NFL safety's Palmetto Bay home.
Taylor, a former standout at the University of Miami, was shot in the groin inside his home Monday. The fifth overall selection in the NFL draft died a day later of blood loss, leading to a highly scrutinized manhunt for those responsible.
The Herald said Mitchell, along with three other young suspects, were arrested and police were attempting to determine which suspect may have shot Taylor.
