ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Pakistani rivals Nawaz Sharif and Benazir Bhutto reportedly have agreed to meet to hash out details of a possible boycott of the January elections.
The two former prime ministers, each newly returned to Pakistan from years of exile, are to meet early this coming week, a spokesman for Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party, said Saturday.
Sharif wants Bhutto to join the All Parties Democratic Movement, which vows to boycott the elections if President Pervez Musharraf does not reinstate the Supreme Court justices he fired last month when he declared emergency rule, Sify News reported Saturday.
Bhutto's party hopes to return to power in the elections but she has said she would consider a boycott if there was a firm agenda as to how to proceed, Sify News reported.
Musharraf, who last week resigned as army chief and then was sworn in as president for another term, has said the elections will be held in January "come hell or high water," Sify reported.
