Report: Nathan abused NYC car and driver

NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Judith Nathan, presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani's wife, misused a New York City car and police driver in 2001, WCBS-TV reports.

Citing a source involved in the mayor's office at the time, CBS says Nathan -- who was Giuliani's girlfriend at the time -- had her relatives and friends chauffeured at city expense.

In 2001, Giuliani was still legally married to his second wife, Donna Hanover, who was living at the mayor's residence, Gracie Mansion.

Giuliani, campaigning in South Carolina Friday, refused to answer reporters' questions about the revelations, MSNBC said. The cable news channel said Giuliani aides "manhandled" reporters who persisted in asking questions on the subject.

Politico.com first reported this week that Giuliani charged protection for trips to Long Island with Nathan to obscure city agencies.

"This story is five years old," Giuliani said on CBS Evening News. "It came out two hours before a debate. It's a typical political hit job with only half the story told."
