Missing woman confided in church member

JOLIET, Ill., Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Two months before she disappeared missing suburban Chicago mother Stacy Peterson told a clergy member she feared "bodily harm" from her husband, Drew.

Pastor Rob Daniels of Westbrook Christian Church said Stacy Peterson, 27, made the comment when a church official contacted her to find out why she and her husband were no longing attending services, The Joliet (Ill.) Herald-News reported Friday.

Daniels didn't identify the church official who contacted Stacy Peterson but he told the Herald-News she asked for an opportunity to have a longer, face-to-face meeting with the official.

Daniels said the church official made a "judgment call" not to alert authorities even though Peterson had expressed fears of "bodily harm."

The Bolingbrook, Ill., resident has been missing for more than a month.

A family spokeswoman said that , 2in August Stacy Peterson made a frantic phone call to her half-sister, Cassandra Cales, saying she wanted to leave Illinois with her children to get away from Drew Peterson, 57.

Pamela Bosco said Stacy Peterson didn't share her concerns with other members of the family.
