CHICAGO, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Volunteers this week scaled back the search for a missing suburban Chicago woman as the FBI prepared to enter the case.

Stacy Peterson, 23, of Bolingbrook, Ill., has been missing since Oct. 8 and investigators have named her husband, Drew, 53, a former Bolingbrook police sergeant, as a suspect in the disappearance.

Illinois State Police said they expected FBI agents to join them this week in the search. Officials said last week because the FBI is joining the search it is possible the U.S. Navy may be asked to provide technical assistance.

Family and friends searched all weekend but found no clues in the disappearance of the mother of two, The Chicago Tribune reported Monday.

A family spokeswoman said they were scaling back on volunteer searches during the week because of work schedules and would resume large-scale volunteer efforts Saturday.
