Rockets from Gaza Strip strike Israel

SDEROT, Israel, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Several rockets launched from the northern Gaza Strip Saturday detonated in Israel's Negev region, causing damage but no injuries.

Reports from the Israeli city of Sderot said the early-morning attack damaged five vehicles and caused anxiety among local residents, who were awakened from their sleep, Ynetnews reported.

"There was a lot of commotion; firefighters, police and Magen David Adom paramedics arrived at the scene," Sderot resident Nikolai Avramov said of the rocket attack. "The children are used to the noise, but the nighttime attack was harder on them."

The rocket attack left some residents wondering how they can escape the increasingly dangerous area.

"I made a mistake when I brought an apartment here seven years ago," Avramov told Ynetnews, "I would leave, but who'll buy the apartment from me now?"
