TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., Democratic presidential hopeful and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani leads Republicans pack, an Orlando Sentinel poll found.

The Florida primary is scheduled for Jan. 29, after the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire vote and before the big Super Tuesday multiple-state vote.

Brad Coker, managing director for Mason-Dixon Polling & Research, warned that primaries can be difficult to predict.

"Primary voter preference can shift dramatically based on the results of the early nominating contests," Coker said.

Clinton had 42 percent of the Democratic vote, followed by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama with 15 percent and former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards with 12. The other Democratic candidates had less than 10 percent.

Giuliani had 36 percent of the Republican vote. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney -- who has recently begun advertising in Florida after focusing on Iowa and New Hampshire -- trailed with 15 percent, while Fred Thompson had 12 percent.

The poll of 304 Democrats and 315 Republicans -- all describing themselves as likely primary voters -- has a margin of error of plus or minus 6 percent.
