Ex-jail guard trying to wed prisoner

TACOMA, Wash., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A former county corrections officer in Washington, fired for having an affair with a prisoner, has been seeking to wed him.

Sara Camarillo, 29, was fired from her job at the Pierce County jail after she fell in love with bank robber Jimi James Hamilton, KIRO-TV in Seattle reported Wednesday.

The Pierce County sheriff's office said Camarillo has been trying to arrange a wedding with Hamilton, who pleaded guilty Tuesday to counts of bank robbery and could be sentenced to nearly 11 years in prison.

"That's not going to happen. They won't be getting married in the jail. That's complete disrespect to our people. He's been nothing but disruptive, assaulting our staff. She ought to be ashamed of herself," the sheriff department's Ed Troyer said.

Authorities said Camarillo may face charges related to her relationship.
