Study: More than half of pets overweight
DENVER, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Denver International Airport had the longest wait times of all large U.S. airports during peak travel periods in the latest fiscal year.
The number of times the wait to go through the metal detectors exceeded 30 minutes also skyrocketed, The Rocky Mountain News reported Monday.
Security officials at the airport are now planning to tweak screening procedures and plead for more guards.
Last December, the Denver airport had a line that took 2 1/2 hours to even get to screening, beating the second-place line at New York's JFK, where a 2-hour wait was recorded two months ago.
Denver's average wait during peak travel was just over 20 minutes in the last year, but on 16 separate occasions in September the wait time was 45 minutes or longer.
