TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Floridians appear to favor a presidential showdown between U.S. Sen. Hilary Clinton of New York and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a poll indicates.

The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post said Sunday its poll found the New York Democratic senator garnered 48 percent of respondents' votes, while Giuliani earned 36 percent among all Republican candidates.

Finishing with only half the votes Clinton received was Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., whose 24 percent easily surpassed the 8 percent earned by former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C.

Giuliani's race for the Republican presidential nod was closer than his Democratic rival's, as 19 percent of poll respondents sided with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

The recent poll included 800 registered voters from across Florida.

Despite the sizable margins enjoyed by Clinton and Giuliani, The Polling Company official Kellyanne Conway told the Post that anything could still happen in the race for the White House.

"These races are very fluid. Nobody is a runway favorite," said Conway, whose company took part in the poll.
