WICKLIFFE, Ohio, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- A 74-year-old Ohio man allegedly robbed a bank at gunpoint to pay medical bills and avoid eviction, WEWS-TV, Cleveland, reported.

Police said Russaw entered the bank Monday, demanded money, and held workers and a customer at gunpoint as a bank employee filled a bag with cash. Seven minutes later, police arrested Russaw on Interstate 90, where he was traveling at about 50 mph in the fast lane, WEWS said. Police found gloves, cash and a mask inside Russaw's car.

Russaw told police he needed the money for medical bills and housing costs, WEWS said. His wife said Russaw, a member of a 1950s Cleveland doo-wop group, suffers from prostate cancer.
