ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- The death toll from a suicide bomb attack on a Pakistani air force bus has been raised to 10 people, seven of them officers, it was reported Friday.

The English-language newspaper Dawn reported 28 more people were injured in the early Thursday blast. The other three dead victims were described as civilians.

The attacker rammed an explosive-laden motorcycle into the bus near Sargodha in Punjab Province, home to Pakistan’s largest air force base. It was the second such attack in a week against Pakistan’s armed forces.

Dawn said the bus was carrying about 50 air force personnel and civilians from the Mushaf Mir Airbase to Kirana Ammunition Depot when it was hit.

A district police officer was quoted as saying the head of the attacker had been found. Authorities said they think the attacker was a local resident.

On Tuesday, a suicide bomber set off a blast in Pakistan’s garrison city of Rawalpindi, less than half a mile from where Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf maintains an office. The military president wasn't hurt but the blast, suspected to be the work of the Taliban and al-Qaida, killed the attacker and seven others, including three policemen.
