Clinton returns to alma mater

WELLESLEY, Mass., Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Hillary Clinton returned to her roots this week with a visit to Wellesley College in Massachusetts, where she studied 40 years ago.

The Democratic senator from New York was back on the campaign trail after being targeted by rival presidential candidates in a debate, The New York Daily News reported.

"In so many ways, this all-women's college prepared me to compete in the all-boys club of presidential politics," Clinton told students Wednesday. "When I came to Wellesley, I never in a million years could have imagined I would one day return as a candidate for the presidency of the United States."

She said that a professor told her that Harvard Law School did not need any more women. Hillary Rodham went to Yale where she met a fellow student from Arkansas, Bill Clinton.

Students were enthusiastic about Clinton's candidacy -- even though many have not made a final decision about supporting her.

"She's an incredibly powerful speaker, and I'm proud to be a Wellesley girl after being here today," said Marielle Noble, a junior from California.
