LONDON, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- A witness at the inquiry into the death of Britain's Princess Diana said he saw the face of the driver whose car allegedly collided with Diana's Mercedes.
Georges Dauzonne described the man at the wheel of the mystery white Fiat Uno as about 40 years old with short black hair and tanned skin wearing a bomber jacket, The Daily Mail reported Monday.
Dauzonne said the Fiat was severing so much as it pulled out of the Alma tunnel in Paris that he initially thought the driver was a "Saturday night drunk," The Daily Mail article said
"I don't think he was driving slowly and zig-zagging on purpose," Dauzonne told the inquiry. "He was trying to watch something (in the tunnel) behind him."
The description provided by Dauzonne was the first to be given of the Fiat Uno driver who pulled in front of the princess' car causing the crash that killed her and companion Dodi Fayed.
His testimony was made possible by a video link from Paris to the High Court in London where the Diana inquest began its fifth week.
