HARTLEPOOL, England, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- An Englishman who admitted kicking and urinating on a disabled woman while she lay dying on the sidewalk has been sentenced to three years in prison.
A friend used a cell phone to film Anthony Anderson covering Christine Lakinski with shaving cream. Anderson and Lakinski were neighbors in Hartlepool.
Anderson pleaded guilty Friday in Teesside Crown Court to outraging public decency, The Telegraph reported. Judge Peter Fox told him that he "plumbed the depths of degradation."
Lakinski, born with curvature of the spine, died of natural causes at the age of 50. But paramedics were not called until half an hour after she collapsed outside her home.
"We remain totally shocked that anyone could behave in such an appalling way," Lakinski's brother, Michael, said. "The fact that Christine was dying makes this man's actions even more inhumane. However those who stood by and did nothing to stop Anderson are just as guilty in our eyes."
